Only a few short months after Whistler Blackcomb was sold to Vail Resorts Ltd, another Canadian west coast resort has put up the "For Sale" sign.
Owned by the McLaughlin family since the 1970's, and one of the closer mountain ski facilities to the city of Vancouver, Grouse Mountain is popular, seeing about 1.3 million visitors annually.  Since 1989 over $55 million has been invested into the property, making it into a full 4-season attraction.  The mountain resort now features 212 acres of skiable terrain with four ski lifts and one tow-rope providing access to 26 runs including 14 runs which are lit to allow night skiing.

The resort’s spokesperson Julia Grant told Global News the decision was made because the owners want to pursue other interests, and selling the resort will allow them to do that.
“Grouse Mountain presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire an iconic Vancouver landmark,†said Tony Quattrin, the Vice Chairman of National Investment Team at CBRE Canada, the firm retained as advisers to market the property and help carry out the sale.  “We anticipate a high level of local, national and international interest in acquiring Vancouver’s premier year-round outdoor recreation destination.
But not to worry if you're a Grouse Mountain lover, or season's pass-holder, Grant says the sale will not affect current operations. "For the upcoming season, it's business as usual".
Grant continued “We are busy getting ready for the upcoming winter season,"and according to forecasts, it's going to be a great one!
